Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Creative title, I know. It's all I've got tonight.

Nathan and I took a vacation to Iowa for Christmas/New Years. It was a splendid time. The drive was great both ways, clear roads, good company, good music. Seeing family was fantastic- parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, in-laws, out-laws, boyfriends, girlfriends-- we saw everyone! Relaxing, laughing, eating, playing games, more laughing... I think I added about 2 years to my life from our two week vacation. It was great to see our nephews again- they change so fast! They are 23 months and 18 months- so much fun. Its funny to think about how the family gathering has changed since the introduction of the little ones. Now the Miller's house has almost as much chaos as the Ter Haar's... ok- maybe a very different form of chaos, but it is wonderful. I had a strange feeling coming back to Iowa. It was almost as if we had never left, but also as if we had been gone a long time. I have to say I still felt comfortable. I know my friends would disagree with me on that one :) I wouldn't say it was "comfortable" in the sense that I feel the need to move back, but comfortable in the sense that I didn't feel like Iowas was too terrible of a place to grow up. Having a home in Colorado is good. Space is good. Vacation was a much needed change of pace- I was beginning to feel bogged down at work. It refreshed my perspective and reminded me of how much I am loved and how much love I have for family. The New Year should be an exciting one. Yea 2009! Let the adventure continue!
